My site is dedicated to him, his memory, and the thousands of other men and woman who built kits.
The other day I was helping a friend clean out boxes and boxes of stuff he’s accumulated over the years. Hardware, screws, electronics, etc.
In one box I found what looked like a garage door opener. It went into the electronic recycling pile.
Later that day I had a closer look at the remote. I like to look to see if I can find old Radio Shack batteries. No luck, there was no battery. However….. I looked closer to the back and noticed it was made by Heathkit!
Model SL-6134, that was used for a garage door. I’m not sure if it is for the one advertised in the 1978 Winter catalog or not.
Wow what I find for my Heathkit collection. Saved from the electronic recycling pile. And YES, it will get a good cleaning.

UPDATE: January 2024. over winter, I'm adding more catalogs as there are so many people visiting and looking at them, it's very humbling.
I’m pleased to announce that I will be hosting several websites dedicated to the hobby of radio. The purpose of this site is to have a digital record of vintage Heathkit catalogs and manuals. This is good for a walk down memory lane as well as a reference of information all located on one website.
I’m currently looking for donations to be scanned and placed on the site for the world to enjoy. Don’t let these treasures go to the dump or for recycling. If you wish to give them a good home and they are currently from a non-smoking environment, please let me know by sending a quick email to me and I will be more than happy to place your name on the site if I use your donations.
P.S., if you have any other radio related (Radio Shack, Allied etc) catalogs, flyers, or anything you think should be preserved,) please don’t hesitate to send them my way so I can scan them for the world to see.
Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you.

How the years have passed and to think that one time our fathers or grandfathers used to build modern electronics from a kit right in their basements. Now, some people can’t even figure out how to turn on a computer let alone build one.
